"Four Students Qualify for State Drama Festival"

Just on Monday March 26, 2007 the Whitehorse High School Drama Deparment competed in the Region Drama Competition. The students competing the competition, competed in the areas of Monologue, Panamime, and Scenes. Their were eight students who competed and they were Ty Coggeshell, Lance Totsonnie, Swarvoski Little, Kohana Holly, Daven Bennallie, Sean Shirley, Emilio Begay, and Janathan Yazzie. Four of those students qualified for the State Drama Competition. Swarvoski and Kohana with their Scene from, "The Fig Connection," who received 2nd place the Scene Competition, and also Lance and Ty with their Panamime called, "Video Game Fight." The State Competition is going to be held in Salt Lake City, Utah, and our competitors will have a chance to compete with state wide competitors.

"Sasha Judy gets Artwork displayed in State Art Museum"

Sasha Judy a Senior this year has earned the great honor of having her Artwork displayed in the All-State High School Artshow in Springfield, Utah. Over 3000 students submitted their artwork and only 450 of those students get that opportunity to display their accomplishment state wide. Sasha's artwork is believed to have been the only 1A artwork displayed in the All-State Artshow. Their were three other students who submitted their artwork here at this school and they are Mathew Lansing, Sheridan Jones, and Bradon Harrison. Congratulation to Sasha Judy for her talents in area of art and dedication to this area. And for those who didn't make it, maybe next year will work out.

"San Juan School District Honor Band"

During November 13 and 14, the District Honor Band was being held here at Whitehorse High School. Schools from Blanding, Montecello, and Monument Valley get to play challenging music together and with the top musicians in our school district. Students rehearsed the challenging music selections in the our schools auditoriam for about 9 hours and got about 45 minutes for a break. After all the practice and hard work, the students got to perform their musical selections such as Chant and Jubalo, Ashokan Farewell, To Dance in the Secret Garden, and March of the Belgiam Paratroopers on Tuesday, November 4th. Students that made the band from our school are Kohana Holly, Daven Bennallie, Josiah Begay. all playing trumpet, Vanessa Lowe, Fernanda Hill, Sharmita Lansing, all playing clarinet, Swarvoski Little, playing french horn, Joshua John, playing tuba, Semira Crank, playing bass clarinet, Arwin Lansing, playing oboe, Hokti Miles and Ashaleena Sam, playing saxophone, Dustin Billie and Neilton Nakai, playing trombone.
