These are a few of the activities that you can do while on the Blanding Elementary School Page.
Math Activities
- Combo Math. This activity is played by selecting a number that is the target number for combination facts. When you select start you will be given a grid of numbers. Select the ones that add to the target number. Numbers that turn red are incorrect, but can still be used. (Will open in a new window)
- ComboMath2 Select one or more numbers (1 to 9). Clic on start. A problem will be presented with the first number being one of the numbers selected. The second number will be a random number from 1 to 9. Select the correct answer by clicking on the bottom numbers again. (Green - correct, Purple - incorrect). Score is determined by the sum of the digits that are correct.
- Area/Perimeter This activity has two parts. In the first part choose two of the four variables by clicking on them. These are the two that you will provide answers for. If your answers are incorrect the box will turn red when you click on check. You can change your answer until it is correct. When both answers are correct you go to the second part. This gave plays like bingo. Your possible choices come from the four boxes of the previous screen, and show up as light blue. Click on one of the light blue boxes in the bingo grid. If you have no choices, you can click on any box to go back. Good luck.
- Multiplication. In this activity you will choose one number from the top row. You will then be given a simple multiplication problem with the chosen number as one of the factors. Click on the correct answer to the right. When the answers is correct the tile with the answer will disappear. When answers are incorrect missing tiles will reappear. There is a "pass" button that will not penalize you when the correct answer does not appear. The object is to eliminate all tiles. Game will appear in a new window. Good Luck.
- PegJump (Multiplication) The is the classic game (usually played with golf tees) where you take a peg, jump over anther peg (in a straight line) and land in a empty hole. The peg that you jump over is then removed. The object is to get down to one peg. There are two levels of the game. Level one uses the numbers 1 to 15. Level 2 will use multiples of a selected factor to 15. The game is played by using the numbers on the right side of the screen (1 through 15), and noting the labels "From" and "To" meaning where to jump from and where ot jump to. There is an aid at the bottom of the screen to show all possible moves. Game will open in a new window. Good Luck.
- Battleship. Still in process, but there is enough of it there to work. Click on a number at the top, and a number along the side. This will give a set of coordinates. Put the multiplication answer in the box above the fire button and click fire. You will be told if the answer is correct or incorrect, and also if you have hit a battleship or not. The ship counter does not work at the present time. Good luck

Library Activities
- Simple Match Simple match to help understand General Dewey Classification.
- Mirror Match Match General Dewey Classifiaction using "Mirrors" to bounce a signal from the numeraic to the text classification. One click in the middle set the "Mirror" to the right. A second click will set the "Mirror" to the left. A third click will take the "Mirror" out. However once the "Mirror has been hit it becomes frozen and cannot be changed. Once the "Mirrors" are in place click on either the text or numeric identifers of Dewey to complete the match.
- Library Locational Skills This is an activity to help locate materials within a library, either by using alphabetical or Dewey listings. There are a few helps provided. By clicking on the H letter in the alphabet, you will be given direction arrows that will lead you to the correct answer. The letter "K" will allow you to use the arrow letters on the keyboard to move the target word around the options, and the letter "M" will allow you to use the target word with the mouse.
