A Message from the Superintendent
The San Juan School District Progress Report is compiled and
made available to all interested parties each year in compliance with a
requirement from the Utah State Legislature. The requirement is in place to
assist parents in gaining a clear picture of the success and challenges of the
school system. I hope that the information provided is helpful to you as you
review your individual student’s progress in relationship with the progress
made generally by students in the district.
I hope that you will note the areas where progress is being made. Our district is extremely fortunate to have a high quality group of teachers, administrators, and support personnel working with our students. The focus of the San Juan School District has been and will continue to be the improvement of student achievement through the strengthening of our curriculum and our individual teacher skill level. We will continue to provide high quality, focused in-service training and staff development to further enhance our ability to meet the needs of each individual student within the district.
Our job is to provide a quality educational experience for the students of the district. I recognize that the district and its employees cannot do this alone. We need the support of parents and a diligent effort from the students. I firmly believe that the district is on the threshold of tremendous progress in student achievement and I will continue to do my part to assure that this happens.
