Applications for funds from the San Juan District Foundation are due in the District Office on Friday, October 4, 2005 at 12:00 noon. Except for requests from Out-of-State contest winners, this will be the only opportunity to request funds for the 2005-2006 school year.

The following criteria for funding was approved by the Foundation Board in 2002

  A. Funding limits (2000.00 per school maximum)

  • Individual = $200
  • Groups = $1500
  • School = $2000 (Maximum)

B. Proposals will be accepted from Schools only for individuals, groups, and the school. Outside agencies, etc. must work through individual schools to receive funding. Projects must be academic in nature and a direct benefit to students. Proposals should be for projects not normally funded by another district program.

C. A presentation at the board meeting is required in order to receive funding. (For date and time of board meeting contact Ron Nielson, foundation director.)

D. Signatures of School Employees involved are required on the application. Only completed applications will be considered for funding.

E. The Board will retain funds for Out-of State contest winners and will receive those applications in January and May.

F. The Foundation funding cannot be used to pay for adults or chaperones. (Students only)

G. The school principal’s signature is required on the application.
